The series FDM fiber optic distance measuring instruments offer sophisticated non-contact surface profile measurements, highly accurate GD&T and precise position detection. The precision sensor technology of the FDM series is capable of measuring frequencies of up to 20 kHz and an accuracy in the low nanometer range. The sensors perform roughness measurements ten times faster than comparable tactile methods. The miniaturized measuring probes, with diameters starting from 50 µm, allow for flexible, contactless and highly precise inspections of difficult-to-access surface structures and cavities. Standard probes with diameters of 0.8 and 1.3 mm are available for larger cavities. Thanks to the modular design of the measuring device, the probe and evaluation unit can be placed at almost any distance from each other. High measuring frequencies, integrated interfaces and system-specific software solutions means they can be fully integrated into automated production processes.
